Last year, counted

Last year at Meridian, counted

We log every appointment, wait and result turnaround, and publish the numbers each spring. These are ours, not industry averages, and they are the ones we are held to.

Safety

What went wrong, and how often.

The numbers a clinic would rather not publish. We publish them because they are the ones that change practice.

  1. Abnormal results not phoned within one working dayNine cases in the year, all reached on day two. Every abnormal result is now double-flagged to the duty GP.
  2. Complaints per 1,000 appointments25 formal complaints, 23 resolved in house within 20 working days, 2 escalated to ISCAS, none upheld.
  3. Minor procedure infectionsThree wound infections in 380 skin procedures, all treated with oral antibiotics.
  4. CQC inspection findingsRated Good in all five domains at the last inspection. No enforcement actions.

Method

How we count.

Figures come from the practice management system for every appointment between 1 January and 31 December 2025, cross-checked by the practice manager in February 2026. Waits are measured from the request to the appointment start. Demonstration data for a fictional practice.

Our promise

Seen when we said, or the fee is waived

If you are kept waiting more than 20 minutes past your appointment time without being told why, the appointment is free. It happened 31 times in 2025 out of 41,200 appointments.
