Why the scanners are downstairs and the surgeons upstairs.

Northgate opened in 2019 in a former foundry office behind Wexbury Central station. Naomi Sterling, Rohan Mehta and Richard Cavendish had spent twenty years each in the NHS and knew exactly where the waiting happened: between the referral and the scan, between the scan and the report, between the report and the person who could explain it.

So the scanners are on the ground floor, the consultants are upstairs, and the report is written in the building by a radiologist who can walk up and talk to the surgeon. That is the whole design.

Every consultant here still works in the NHS. We are not an alternative to it; we are the part of it that should not take months. Prices are fixed in writing, insurers are billed directly, and our numbers are audited every January and published on the results page.
