Run.
Video gait analysis on an instrumented treadmill, strength testing and a written plan. For the injured runner, the runner who keeps getting injured, and the runner with a race and a nagging doubt.
Treat.
Within the week. Sessions, length and whether an insurer usually pays, on every row.
45 minutes for the uninjured runner: treadmill video, strength screen, three things to work on.

Urgency first, then the symptoms that bring people in and what we do about them. If a same-day line matches, do not wait for us.
Routine
Pain around or behind the kneecap from the way it loads, usually a training or strength story rather than damage.
Running gait analysis package: the treadmill usually shows the cause, and the fix is strength plus a change in load.
Routine
Pain along the inside of the shin from too much running too soon, or a change in surface or shoes.
Running MOT or gait analysis package; a focal spot of bone pain that hurts to hop on is treated as a possible stress fracture and imaged first.

Ask.
Yes, the ones you run in most, plus any you are thinking of buying. Shoe changes are the last thing we suggest, not the first.
No. If we think you need insoles we say so and refer you to a podiatrist we trust. Most runners do not.
Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, WPA and Cigna are billed directly with your authorisation number; you pay only any excess. Healix, Simplyhealth and Allianz patients pay us and claim back. Classes, sports massage, the Running MOT and desk assessments are self-pay on nearly every policy.
Clothes you can move in: shorts for legs, a vest for shoulders and backs. We have spare shorts. For the running clinic, bring the shoes you run in. Bring any scan reports or letters from a consultant; we can read images sent to your phone.
Injured today?
Phone and Beth answers. Tell her where it hurts and when you can come in; she finds the physio and the slot, and checks your insurer's rules before you arrive.
