We log every test, every fitting, every return and every wax appointment, and once a year Alan and Priya sit down and count. These are our own figures for 2025, including the ones that do not flatter us. Demonstration data for this template.

How it went
Each figure is ours, from our own records, including the ones that do not flatter us.

Free for 1,610 of them. 46% showed no loss that needed aids, and those people were told so and asked back in two years.

of pairs kept after 60 days
720 pairs fitted; 65 returned for a full refund inside the promise. We would rather refund than have aids in a drawer.

Custom in-the-ear styles take longer (about 14 days) because they are made to your ear impression.

Every pair, both ears, at fitting and at every re-tune where the change is large. The UK average is under a third.

38% the same day. 4% waited longer, nearly all by choice, and 71 people were told there was no wax and charged £25.

Of 230 people who booked the NHS hearing aid check, 120 left with their NHS aids working and nothing to buy.

Returns, scrapes, referrals and complaints, with what we did about each.

- Reasons logged: not enough benefit in noise (most), handling, cost. Every return got a full refund; 22 of the 65 came back later for a different level.

- Small scrapes of the ear canal, all healed without treatment. No perforations.

- Sudden hearing loss seen and referred the same day
- All tested the same day and written to the GP or sent to A&E within the hour. Time matters more than anything else we do.

- Losses referred to a doctor rather than fitted
- One-sided, sudden or unexplained losses, and middle-ear problems. We do not fit aids to a problem that needs a doctor.

- Two about waiting for a maker's repair, one about a fitting appointment overrunning, one about price. All resolved by Alan within a week.
How we count
Where the numbers
come from
Our own records, audited each January. Rounded, and never an industry average.
Every test, fitting, return, wax appointment and repair is logged in the practice system. Tinnitus is scored on the Tinnitus Functional Index at the first visit and at three months. Returns are counted against every pair fitted in the year, including trials converted. Real-ear measurement is recorded on every fitting record. Alan and Priya audit the year each January. Numbers are rounded; these are demonstration figures for this template.

The 60-day promise
Wear any pair from us for 60 days, in every room of your life. Come back as often as you need. If they are not right for you, for any reason, return them for a full refund with no restocking fee. Paid monthly? The agreement is cancelled too. Last year 65 pairs came back and 65 refunds were paid.
