Bring someone with you
Bring a relative or friend into the appointment; we encourage it. A familiar voice is the best thing to test with, and two people remember more than one.

Every price on this page is the whole price. Hearing aid prices are for a pair at each technology level, include fitting with real-ear measurement, follow-ups, four years of aftercare, the maker's warranty and the 60-day money-back promise. A single aid is about 55% of the pair price. Large-print copies at the desk.

The 60-day promise
Wear any pair from us for 60 days, in every room of your life. Come back as often as you need. If they are not right for you, for any reason, return them for a full refund with no restocking fee. Paid monthly? The agreement is cancelled too. Last year 65 pairs came back and 65 refunds were paid.

Ears make wax on purpose; sometimes it builds up, especially with hearing aids or narrow canals, and blocks the sound. Blocked, muffled, your own voice loud. Removed by microsuction in twenty minutes.
Olive oil drops for three days, then book microsuction; usually within three days. No cotton buds.
Earache without infectionRoutine
Ear pain with a clean, healthy ear is often the jaw, a tooth or the neck, referred to the ear. We can look and tell you the ear is fine; the dentist or GP takes it from there.
See a pharmacist or GP; if the ear itself needs a look, book wax removal and we will check it and charge only £25 if it is clear.

The door is level with the pavement and there is a hearing loop at the desk. Ring the bell if you would like someone to open the door for you.

Chapel Lane long-stay car park, £1.20 for two hours; the back door is twenty paces from the pay machine and opens onto the repairs bench, so drop-offs are quick

People ask
Does it hurt?
No. It is noisy and a little strange, and some people find it ticklish. If anything is uncomfortable we stop. We do not syringe, which is the method that used to hurt.
How often will I need it?
Some people never again; some every six months, especially hearing-aid wearers, because aids stop wax working its way out. We will tell you which you are likely to be.
