Bring someone with you
Bring a relative or friend into the appointment; we encourage it. A familiar voice is the best thing to test with, and two people remember more than one.

Tom comes to you. Tuesdays and Thursdays, within two weeks; £95 for a hearing test at home, including travel.

Every price on this page is the whole price. Hearing aid prices are for a pair at each technology level, include fitting with real-ear measurement, follow-ups, four years of aftercare, the maker's warranty and the 60-day money-back promise. A single aid is about 55% of the pair price. Large-print copies at the desk.

The 60-day promise
Wear any pair from us for 60 days, in every room of your life. Come back as often as you need. If they are not right for you, for any reason, return them for a full refund with no restocking fee. Paid monthly? The agreement is cancelled too. Last year 65 pairs came back and 65 refunds were paid.

The NHS gives good hearing aids for nothing, and we say so on the door. Many of our patients keep their NHS aids as a spare pair. What follows is what each route involves, so you can choose with your eyes open. If the NHS is right for you, we say so and write to your GP to get you there.

Ear infectionThis week
Pain, discharge, sometimes fever and muffled hearing. Outer-ear infections come from water and scratching; middle-ear infections come after colds. Neither is ours to treat.
Pharmacist or GP this week. Once it has settled, we will check your hearing has come back.
Perforated eardrumThis week
A hole in the eardrum from infection, a blow, or a cotton bud. Usually heals itself in a few weeks. Keep water out and no syringing or microsuction until it has closed.
GP this week. Tell us if you have ever had one before we remove wax; it changes what we do.

The door is level with the pavement and there is a hearing loop at the desk. Ring the bell if you would like someone to open the door for you.

Can I have NHS aids and private ones?
Yes. Plenty of people keep their NHS aids as a spare pair. Nothing about buying privately stops you using the NHS service, and we never ask anyone to hand NHS aids back.
