What arrives when
During the appointment
Prescriptions sent electronically; sick notes, letters and certificates written and handed over or emailed as signed PDFs.

Laboratory bloods, sexual health screens and the Essential screen report. You get a message; the result and comment are in your account.
The same day, if it matters
Anything abnormal that needs action is phoned to you by the duty GP before it is filed, and a same-day appointment is offered.
Within 48 hours
Referral letters sent and copied to you; Advanced and Executive screen reports; cardiologist ECG reports.
Any time
Download or share any result, letter or vaccination record from your account with your NHS GP, a consultant, an employer or an insurer.
Everything lands in Harbour Street Online, your results account, with a GP comment attached.

If something is abnormal
An abnormal result never sits in an inbox. The analyser and the laboratory both flag it to the duty GP's phone; the GP reads it, phones you, and offers a same-day slot or a referral before the result is filed. Out of hours, the on-call GP does the same. If we cannot reach you, we keep trying and we write.

Occupational health referrals from HR go to Dr Bell and are seen within two working days.
- Same-day GP at £65 on account, slots held until 10:00 for account holders; sick notes and return-to-work letters included.
- Occupational health referrals from HR acknowledged within one working hour and seen within two working days; report within 24 hours of the assessment, with the employee's consent.

09Our numbers
Seen today, counted every month
94%
seen the same day
Of patients who phoned or booked before 11:00 and asked for a same-day slot, 94% were seen that day. After 11:00, 81%. The rest were seen the next morning.
2 h 40
median call to being seen
From the phone call or online booking to the doctor calling your name. Median across 12,100 same-day appointments; 90th percentile 5 hours 10 minutes.
9 min
median wait in reception
From your booked time to being called. The board books real times, so you are not waiting behind a queue.
18,900
prescriptions issued
Including 5,800 through the repeat service. Median 48 minutes from an online repeat request to the pharmacy receiving it.
98%
referral letters within 48 hours
Of 2,700 referral letters, 98% reached the consultant or service within two working days; 71% the same day.
96%
bloods reported within 24 hours
Of 9,400 samples, 96% carried a GP comment in the patient's account within 24 hours of the draw; in-house tests median 3 hours 20 minutes.
71 min
median booking to video call
Across 6,200 video appointments, 07:30 to 21:00 seven days a week.
4.8
average review score
410 public Google reviews at the time of writing. Every one is answered by Ellie.
31%
Antibiotic prescribing rate for sore throat
Of 1,900 sore throat consultations; the national primary care figure is around 50%. Throat swabs in the room are why.
1.4%
Patients sent on to A&E or 999 from a same-day slot
Where the examination showed something a GP should not manage. We call ahead and send the notes.
3
Complaints upheld
Of 21,300 appointments; all three about waiting times on one bank-holiday Saturday. The Saturday rota changed in June.
0
Missed abnormal results
Every result is read by a GP within one working day; the analyser and the laboratory both flag abnormals to the duty doctor's phone.
Figures come from the practice system's timestamps and the laboratory feed, compiled monthly by Ellie and checked by Dr Raman. Same-day rate counts requests made before closing time; a request at 19:55 that was seen at 08:00 counts as next day. Demonstration data for this template; a live site would publish the clinic's own audit.
10What patients say
4.8 from 410 reviews, every one answered
Phoned at 8:10 with a screaming toddler and an ear. Seen at 9:00 by Dr Whitfield, antibiotics at the chemist by 9:40, and a sheet of what to watch for that I actually used at 2am. The children's line answered.
Megan T.
The board is the thing. I could see every slot with the price, took a 15-minute one at 07:45 before work, and was at my desk by 08:30 with a sick note in my inbox. No 8am phone queue, no 'describe your symptoms to the receptionist'.
Chris B.
Advanced screen. Bloods at 07:45, breakfast, ECG, then Dr Ashworth went through every number with me on screen, not a PDF a week later. Found my thyroid was low. The report was in my account the next morning.
Farida K.
Kenya in nine days and a yellow fever certificate I did not know I needed. Saturday walk-in, five jabs, certificate and malaria tablets in forty minutes. Four stars only because the Saturday queue was longer than the board suggested.
Owen L.
Sexual health screen at lunchtime, results on my phone at 10 the next morning, all clear. Dr Okonkwo was kind, quick and completely matter of fact about it. This is what it should be like.
Anita P.
We put our whole boatyard on the corporate account. Two of us. Ellie set it up in three days and the lads get seen the same morning instead of losing a fortnight waiting. The invoice comes with reference numbers not names, which they like.

11Questions patients ask
Before you book
Can you really see me today?
Most days, yes. The board shows every free slot for every doctor; if there is a time on it, it is yours. Last year 94% of requests made before 11:00 on a weekday were seen that day in person, and every one by video. Ask before 11:00 and if we cannot see you that day, in person or by video, the appointment is free.
Can you give me a sick note?
Yes. A private fit note is signed by a GMC-registered GP and is accepted by every employer and university we have dealt with. It is included in any appointment, or £30 with a short video call. It covers from the day the doctor spoke to you; we can only backdate with evidence such as a hospital letter.
Will you have my NHS records, and will my NHS GP know I came?
We do not have your NHS record unless you bring a summary or give us permission to request one; tell the doctor what you take and what you have had. We send a summary of the appointment to your NHS GP with your consent, and we recommend it, so that the record is complete. Nothing is sent without your say-so.
How much does a prescription cost?
The prescription is included in the appointment. You pay the pharmacy the private price of the medicine, which for most antibiotics, creams and short courses is a few pounds and sometimes less than the NHS charge. For expensive medicines we tell you the price before you decide, and where an NHS prescription would be much cheaper we say so.
Do you see children?
Yes, of any age, and the 07:30 slots are kept for families. Babies under one are seen within two hours of the call. Dr Whitfield holds the diploma in child health and spent four years in hospital paediatrics. The children's line reaches a GP until 21:00 on the day you were seen.
Will my health insurance cover this?
Usually not for GP appointments: most UK policies exclude primary care, though some corporate schemes and add-ons include it. We give an itemised receipt to claim if yours does. Health screens are sometimes a policy benefit. Everything here is priced for paying yourself, and membership is the cheaper route if you come more than twice a year.
Which travel vaccines are free on the NHS?
Hepatitis A, typhoid, cholera and the diphtheria-tetanus-polio booster are free from your NHS GP if they offer travel vaccination and you have four to six weeks. Yellow fever, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, tick-borne encephalitis, meningitis ACWY for travel and hepatitis B are private everywhere. We tell you at the consultation what you could get free if you have time.
What happens if something is serious?
If the examination shows something a GP should not manage, we say so and send you to A&E or call 999 from the room, phoning ahead with our notes. Last year that was 1.4% of same-day appointments. For anything needing a specialist, the referral letter is written before you leave and sent within 48 hours, privately or to the NHS through your own GP.
