Four technology levels, one price list
- Essential, from £1,495 a pair: quiet rooms, one-to-one, the television

- Premium, from £3,795: the busiest rooms, the most automatic, the best in noise we can fit
Every level is available as a small receiver-in-canal aid, in-the-ear, completely-in-canal, or behind-the-ear, and nearly all as rechargeable.
What real-ear measurement is, and why we insist on it
A hearing aid's first setting is a guess based on the average ear. Yours is not average. We put a thin, soft tube beside the aid in your ear canal and measure what actually reaches your eardrum, then adjust until it matches your prescription. It adds twenty minutes and it is the difference between aids that sit in a drawer and aids that get worn. Fewer than a third of UK fittings include it; every one of ours does.
The 60-day promise
Wear them for 60 days. Come back as often as you need. If they are not right for you, return them for a full refund. Last year 91 out of every 100 pairs stayed with their owner.

Step by step
What happens,
in order
Nothing here is hurried. Each step is explained before it happens, and written down for you afterwards in large print.
Bring someone with you
Bring a relative or friend into the appointment; we encourage it. A familiar voice is the best thing to test with, and two people remember more than one.
Day 1, fitting
90 minutes. Real-ear measurement, the aids set to your prescription, then the basics: in, out, charging, the phone. We start you a little quieter than target so the world does not shout.
Week 1
Wear them all day at home. Your own voice sounds odd, and the fridge is loud; both fade. Write down the rooms that are hard.
Week 2, follow-up
We bring the volume up to target and adjust for the rooms on your list. Twenty minutes.
Week 6
Second follow-up. Most people are wearing them all day by now and have stopped noticing them.
Day 60
Decision day, though most people have decided by week three. Keep them or return them for a full refund.
Years 1 to 4
A clean and check whenever you like, a yearly hearing test and re-tune, loan aids while yours are repaired.

The honest bit
- The first week is tiring: your brain is relearning sounds it had stopped hearing. That is normal and short
- Aids help most people a great deal in noise and do not make noise disappear; we say what to expect for your level
- In-the-ear styles need a dry ear and can be affected by wax; we show you how to keep them clean
- About 9 in 100 pairs come back within 60 days; we would rather refund than have aids in a drawer

Do I need two?
If both ears have a loss, two aids nearly always work better than one: you can tell where sound comes from and follow speech in noise much better. If one ear is fine, we fit one. A single aid is about 55% of the pair price.
Which makers do you fit?
The main five: Phonak, Oticon, Signia, Widex and Starkey, plus ReSound and Unitron when they suit. We are tied to none, and our prices are by technology level, not by maker, so we can choose freely.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. 0% over 12 or 24 months with a 10% deposit, or a longer term with interest; see the pay-monthly page. Essential level works out at about £56 a month over two years with a 10% deposit.
