What this is
If getting to Market Place is hard, Tom comes to you on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a case that holds the same test kit we use in the shop. We test in your quietest room, look in your ears with the camera, and go through the result at your own table.
If hearing aids would help, they are fitted at home too, with real-ear measurement, and every follow-up for four years can be at home on the Premium care package. Care homes: we visit residents together on a morning, and we will happily show staff how to look after aids.

Step by step
What happens,
in order
Nothing here is hurried. Each step is explained before it happens, and written down for you afterwards in large print.
Bring someone with you
Bring a relative or friend into the appointment; we encourage it. A familiar voice is the best thing to test with, and two people remember more than one.
Booking
Sandra takes the address, the quietest room, and whether a relative will be there.
The visit
About 75 minutes. Tom brings everything and needs a table and a socket.
Afterwards
Results left with you. If aids are the answer, the fitting is booked at home about nine days later.

The honest bit
- A living room is never as quiet as the booth, so the test is slightly less precise; we say so and it is rarely a problem
